Delete your account & data
You can delete your InspectAI account and all of its data at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and how long it takes. It applies to the InspectAI iOS app and the web platform operated by Steps Ventures LLC.
How to request deletion
Use whichever is easiest — any one of these deletes your account and all associated data:
- In the iOS app: Settings → Delete Account. This opens the secure web confirmation, where you sign in once and confirm.
- On the web: sign in to your dashboard, then go to Settings → Delete account (/dashboard/settings/delete) and confirm.
- By email: write to privacy@inspectai.app from the address on your account, subject line "Delete my account." We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we proceed.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account profile (email, name, license number, company details)
- Every inspection you created — findings, notes, severities, and cost estimates
- All uploaded media — photos, audio recordings, and LiDAR room-scan files
- Generated reports and any shareable report links
- API keys associated with your account
How long it takes
Account closure is immediate; complete removal of all associated data, including media in object storage and database backups, finishes within 30 days.
What we may retain
- Billing records we are required to keep by law (tax/accounting), retained for the legally required period and not used for any other purpose.
- Aggregated, de-identified data that can no longer be linked to you or your clients.
- Content already transmitted to Google Gemini as part of a past AI request — we cannot recall third-party API inputs after the fact. Google's retention policies for API inputs apply.
